Marcel Barbeau appears in the book Etre artiste

Ëtre artiste

Michel Bois, Alexandre Motulsky-Falardeau,
Être artiste, Les éditions De L’Instant Même, 2015. 92 P.

In bookstores since  August 11, 2015, Etre artiste published by L’instant même dedicated a chapter to the multidisciplinary artist Marcel Barbeau.

“Etre artiste presented the interviews conducted by Michel Bois and Alexander Motulsky-Falardeau with Madeleine Arbour, Francine Simonin, Paul Lacroix, Jean-Pierre Morin, Michel Goulet, Françoise Sullivan, René Derouin and Marcel Barbeau. All accompanied by a brief presentation of the artists and a foreword by John Porter.
By responding with ease to the question: What is being an artist, participants had the generosity and humility to speek about their their experiences, to reflect on the role of art in history or witness the vagaries of life. They talk about vocation and commitment, doubt and tenacity, evoke love for their art, deprivation and polemics as well as the fruits of perseverance. Between passion and duty, their testimonies show that creating is an urgent need, even essential.
Artist himself, Michel Bois divides his time between creating, teaching and journalistic writing. It is particularly Magazinart editor of trade magazine. Alexandre Motulsky-Falardeau was art critic for various newspapers and magazines, and visual arts to refer the issue Lezarts Quebec”.
