Marcel barbeau receive officielly Governor General Award in visual Arts
Named officer of the Order of Canada in December 1995, Marcel Barbeau received the The Governor general’s Award in visual arts, on Wednesday, March 20th, 2013. The six recipients of the Governor general’s Award in visual and media arts as well as -winner of Saydie Bronfman Award in art professions were received in Rideau Hall, official residence of the Governor general of Canada. In the absence of his Excellence the governor general David Johnston, being in Rome at the ceremonies of enthronement of the new pope, it is very Honorable Beverley McLachlin, Chief judge of Canada who chaired the ceremony and pronounced the welcoming ceremony of the seven prize-winners and public.
Mister Joseph Rodman and Simon Brault, respectively president and vice-president of the Canada art council, each afterward pronounced a speech.
