As a reminder of Marcel Barbeau’s old ties with the Laurentians, the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides (The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Laurentians) is presenting an exhibition showing the differant aspects of the artist’s relationship between with the area where he taught, exhibited and where several collectors from Quebec and elsewhere have acquired his works since 1951.
An original silk screen has been produced at Atelier d’art Bellemare and will be on sale at the opening. 50% of the prints will be given to the Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides.
The opening will take place on Sunday February 19, on the artist 87th birthday. It is also the sixtieth aniversary of his activities in the Laurentians. it will be open to public at 2 PM.
