Ninon Gauthier Conference about Marcel Barbeau

At the invitation of the Club des collectionneurs en arts visuels de la ville de Québec, art historian and sociologist, Ninon Gauthier will lecture on the work of Marcel Barbeau. The artist’s wife for 47 years and author of the catalog raisonné of his works, Ms. Gauthier will address the issue of movement in pictorial, sculptural and performative work of Marcel Barbeau.
Ninon Gauthier is president of AICA Canada. She received the National Business Writing Award (1986) and the Excellence Prize for Cultural Journalism Award from the Canadian Conference of the Arts (1988). PhD student of the Paris-Sorbonne University, her thesis entitled MARCEL BARBEAU: ECHOES AND METAMORPHOSES. Catalogue raisonné of paintings 1944-1971 and 1944-2000 catalog raisonné of sculptures, was supervised by the French art historian Serge Lemoine.
