On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the painter and thinker Paul-Émile Borduas in Paris on February 22nd, 1960, Le club des collectionneurs (Club of the collectors) dedicated to the development of the knowledge on visuel art organizes a set of events to pay tribute to the leader of the automatist movement. In front of the silence of institutions about this anniversary mattering, Marc Bellemare, an art lover and CEO and founder of the Club of the collectors decided to take over with the cooperation of the director of the Gallery Lacerte, Louis Lacerte. Under the title ” Paul-Émile Borduas Automatiste and visionary “, they organized an exhibition of historic works of Borduas and his followers Automatists and a series of conferences.
